There may be no new Assassin’s Creed games arriving in 2016 but that doesn’t mean Ubisoft is completely ignoring the franchise. The Assassin’s Creed movie, staring Michael Fassbender, will be launching in US cinemas on the 21st of December 2016 and everywhere else shortly afterwards. We realise that we are primarily a gaming site but we thought this movie in particular would be of interest to our audience, especially now that there’s a pretty awesome trailer that you can view down below.
The story follows one Callum Lynch (Fassbender) who is being forced to relive the memories of his 15th Century ancestor, Aguilar, after his execution was faked. The 15th Century plot takes place in Spain during the Spanish Inquisition, an event we’re almost certain those pesky Templers have a foot in!
As mentioned the trailer is just below. It actually looks a lot better than we thought it would with plenty of action, story details, parkour and some sexy cinematography. Although most internet commenters can’t seem to see past the trailer’s questionable choice of song, just in case you’re wondering it’s I am a God by future president Kanye West.

Conor is Pure PlayStation’s resident Irishman. Naturally that means he’s constantly slurring his words and turning up stinking of Guiness with a potato in his pocket. It’s not all bad though, because Conor is also a PlayStation nut. When he’s not doing his best Father Jack impression (Father Ted, watch it) he’s got a DualShock 4 in his hand and a Vita in the other. Yeah, we don’t know how he manages it either.
