A new red band cinematic trailer was released today for The Callisto Protocol. Here is what you need to know. First, it’s almost entirely the same trailer as you watched a week ago. That’s not a bad thing, since it was pretty cool. There is also no gameplay shown. It does show, in excruciating detail, what happened to the prisoner when his cellmate woke up on the wrong side of the bed. There is even a little more video shown at the end. I watched it again, and I am still just as hyped to see more.
Like Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part, and The Callisto Protocol is not seeing a release until 2022. It’s being developed by Striking Distance Studios, which was founded by Glen Schofield, one of the guys who created Dead Space. Sans actual gameplay, that’s the fuel for a lot of my hype at this point.
The story will see you trying to escape the Black Iron Prison on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. Packing horror and survival, it promises to be terrifying and next-gen power should get us even more realistic visuals. (I assume it’s not coming to the PS4, but my press release doesn’t specify.)
For now, check out the new red band trailer, and I’ll bring you more on The Callisto Protocol as soon as it’s available.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
