Ubisoft has revealed that the successor to its loot-shooter The Division will be coming early next year at the latest. The Division 2’s release window was mentioned as part of Ubisoft’s financial reports, along with The Crew 2 and a new secret game.
So while we know that The Division 2 and The Crew will be out before April 2019, it’s not clear what this secret AAA game is. My bet is that we’ll finally see the return of Sam Fisher. It has already been teased by Ubisoft in Ghost Recon Wildlands, so it’s not that far-fetched.
We must also remember that E3 is just a few short weeks away. There’s every chance that Ubisoft will take this opportunity to bring Sam Fisher’s new Splinter Cell back to the forefront of gaming. Or at least that’s my hope. It’s been too long since we’ve had a decent stealth game, and Sam Fisher’s return could be just what the genre needs.
