The Elder Scrolls 6 Remains a Distant Dream

The Elder Scrolls 6

The Elder Scrolls 6 was never marketed as being an upcoming release. But we’ve received further confirmation today that the game is in fact years away from launch. Heck, by the sounds of it, it’s years away from announcement – never mind being boxed up and ready to ship. And that scenario has no chance of changing. That’s because it is scheduled to launch after Starfield. A game we are yet to learn anything substantial about. And the only IP the studio want us to focus solely on for the next few years…

The news came via an inquisitive Tweet, which I think it’s fair to say, didn’t receive the reply it warranted. After all, there’s a large following behind The Elder Scrolls series who are finding it difficult to wait for the next instalment. Yes, there are online incarnations available at the time being. But its hardly filling the void. However, even though the demand is there, it doesn’t sound like The Elder Scrolls 6 will be expedited. I’d go as far as saying it really is years and years away, if the Tweet’s reply is anything to go by.

You see, Pete Hines told the questioner:

It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations.

An answer that is quite definite in content and tone. But still manages to deliver a disappointing message, nonetheless, even if we should know better than to hope of an earlier release by now. Although, two development teams working in parallel could solve this dilemma, Bethesda…

I guess the hardest thing to grasp is the fact it’s a game everyone is buzzing about – especially its potential in size and scope on the next generation of hardware. However, by the time it does release, we could be talking about where to buy the PlayStation 6 on Mars.

Who am I kidding? We all know that’s going to be Walmart.
