Who says that niche games are dead? They’re still alive and kicking, as shown by the announcement by BigBen Interactive that it will be bringing a premium version of the free-to-play fishing sensation that is The Fisherman: Fishing Planet to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.
From October 17th, 2019, you’ll be able to put your angling skills to the test in over a dozen locations with more than 100 fish to snatch from their natural habitats. There’s dynamic weather to mimic the realistic ballache of sitting around on a lazy afternoon in the sun, rod hanging in the water, only for the heavens above to start pissing it down. I’ve been there, it’s annoying. Can’t wait to relive it from the comfort of my living room.
While PETA and the sensitive sissies on ResetEra will no doubt find something “problematic” with The Fisherman: Fishing Planet, it’ll surely find an audience; over seven million people have dipped their tackle in the free-to-play version, so it can’t be total carp, can it?
