Square Enix pulled back the curtain on the first piece of DLC for Shadow of the Tomb Raider today. The Forge adds a new challenge tomb, one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game. It’s dangerous, mysterious, and it can be played alone or in co-op.
As you can see from the screenshots at the bottom, the Forge is a lava based challenge tomb, so don’t expect a leisurely swim. You will uncover secrets in Kuwaq Yaku and face dangers. For Lara, that’s a Tuesday.
Surviving the Forge brings rewards, other than just being grateful to live another day. You will gain the Grenadier skill, the Brocken Outfit, and the Umbrage 3-80 weapon.
This is the first of seven planned DLC releases included in the season pass. There will be more challenge tombs, co-op missions, outfits, time and score attacks, and narrative missions. When it’s available on November 13th, you can purchase the Forge individually for $4.99, or you can grab the season pass now for $29.99.
Press Release from Square Enix
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
