There were quite a few announcements at last night’s Game Awards. But none as noteworthy as the news that Activision have given the green light for a Crash Team Racing Nitro-fueled – a remaster of the 1999 release. But what’s better is that within twelve hours of that Wumpa bomb dropping, we’re already getting a glimpse of the final article.
In a series of hotly released images, the polish that has been applied to this PSOne classic is evident. Just like the N. Sane Trilogy before it, the team have stayed loyal to the original whilst adding a healthy dose of tech wizardy to the foundations. Using all that we’ve learnt in the years between, they’ve created a modern reconstruction of one of the original console’s greats.
But don’t just take our word for it, see for yourself in this article or in the trailer above.
In addition, we were also gifted with a launch date, which really shows just how under wraps this entire project has been kept, even if fans have been demanding it for ages. You’ll be able to go Wumpa to bumper from June 21st, 2019 – only a couple of months short of its twentieth anniversary!
