I told you earlier in the week that The Last of Us Part 2 had maintained its first place in the physical sales chart, despite an admirable attack by Iron Man VR. Well, I can now confirm that it was also last month’s most downloaded game – not that we’d expected anything else. That’s because the game must also have been this year’s most hyped game, at least so far, and sales often follow hype.
This achievement was attained in both the North American and European PS Stores, further confirming its surge up the charts. And follows the record breaking weekend it also experienced at its launch. However, the digital chart looked remarkably similar to the store one – what with it featuring Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 20 – so this news is largely a reprint of the previous. And will probably read rather similarly next month, too.
One game that entertained us here at Pure PlayStation was SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Botton Rehydrated. But it seems that Europe as a whole didn’t agree, as that was missing entirely. It did make it to fourteenth in America, though, whatever that means…
Meanwhile, the places in the PSVR chart were occupied by stalwarts Beat Saber, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, and Blood & Truth, whilst the very addictive Fortnite was high up in both DLC and Free-to-play lists. Again, no surprise there!
