The Lord of the Rings – Gollum Gets a Brand New Teaser Trailer, But No Gameplay

Daedalic Entertainment has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming action-adventure game The Lord of the Rings – Gollum. Before you get all excited, it’s not a gameplay trailer. It’s a CGI teaser, so it doesn’t really show any of the game itself.

The Lord of the Rings – Gollum is set to release in 2021 on PC, though there’s a bit of ambiguity when it comes to consoles. The press release states “PC and all relevant console platforms at that time.” I’d say there’s a good chance, then, that the game will release on PS4 and Xbox One in some fashion as they’ll still be very relevant during the first year of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The game itself is still shrouded in mystery, but we do know that the game will explore new events and details related to Gollum’s journey and that the game itself is powered by Unreal Engine; another clue that it may be a cross-generation release, as Unreal Engine is very versatile and scalable. Heck, it could mean Gollum even gets a release on the Nintendo Switch, too.
