Dual-reality horror brings the scares to PS5
The Medium is a third-person psychological horror that features unique dual-reality gameplay. Players take on the role of Marianne, a medium who, with her gifted psychic abilities, must explore both the real world and the spirit world to uncover a dark mystery through countless puzzles in this constantly shifting world.
By the power of Unreal Engine 4, Blooper Team has utilised the engine to create a game that has no loading screens.
To celebrate the occasion Blooper Team has published a new gameplay trailer alongside its release that showcases how this intense shifting spiritual world has been adapted for the PS5’s DualSense controller to make the most immersive version of The Medium yet.
Alongside the digital version of the game that can be purchased on the PlayStation Store for £41.74/$40.99 or the Deluxe Edition that contains not only the game but the soundtrack and a digital artbook for £43.99/$54.99 can also buy a physical version of The Medium on either PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC.
These physical editions include the standard copy of The Medium or The Medium: Two Worlds Special Launch Edition that comes with an exclusive Steelbook cover, the original soundtrack and a hardcover art book with 32 pages of the art from The Medium.
But wait, there’s more! If you’re into your gaming music records, Blooper Team and Black Screen Records have opened pre-orders to purchase the original soundtrack separately on either CD or vinyl.
With so many brilliant little goodies you’d almost forget that it’s a horror game that is going to scare the living daylights out of me whenever I get around to playing it. Just need Sony to make a few more of them PS5s…
