Firesprite Games has announced today that it will be releasing a boxed physical version of The Persistence on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this July, as well as making the game available on digital storefronts.
The digital release will go ahead as planned on May 21st, 2020 on console and PC, and then the physical version for PS4 and Xbox One will release on July 17th, 2020, while the Nintendo Switch physical edition will release on July 31st, 2020.
To celebrate the good news, Firesprite Games has put together a brand new trailer, which you can watch up above.
The Persistence started out as a PSVR exclusive game, but it has now been reworked for traditional flatscreen play. The good news here is that current owners of the original PSVR version will also get access to the non-VR version of the game by way of a free update.
The non-VR version of The Persistence runs at a higher resolution with more graphical effects, as without needing to run at 90 frames-per-second for PSVR, the developers can do a little more to make the game shine.
I played the PSVR original and gave it a glowing review a couple of years ago. You can read my positive review through here before the game finally releases in just a couple of days.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
