The Rumors Were True. FFXV Delayed Until November

A few days ago a rumor started circulating around on the internet that Final Fantasy XV was going to be delayed. According to a leak from certain Gamestop officials, they had received new displays for FFXV and with them came a November 29th, 2016 release date instead of the announced September 30th, 2016. We here at Pure PlayStation are sad to report that the rumor was indeed true.

Square Enix put out a press release that confirmed the latest Final Fantasy title will be pushed to November 29th. This change will allow the development team to add additional polish and conduct more quality testing in order for the “reality of the game” to “match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.”

From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this,” said Hajime Tabata the game director. “As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want FINAL FANTASY XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”

Tabata-san also released a video giving more detail into why the game was postponed. You can watch it in its entirety below. Just be sure to turn on captions.

We’ve waited nearly ten years for this long awaited game. What’s another two months? If you need some consoling feel free to leave a comment and we’ll do our best to comfort you. We’re not experts or anything but we’ll do it for free all the same. Final Fantasy XV can still be pre-ordered here.
