There will be no foolish wand waving…
Team17 and Sengi Games have announced that they are developing an all-new roguelike game called The Serpent Rogue where you’ll be tasked with mixing potions to survive.
A corrupting force known as Morbus – The Serpent Rogue – threatens to take over the medieval realm. You, a mysterious character called The Warden, must head out on an adventure to confront and destroy this corruption.
As you explore this realm The Warden will discover new potions and recipes that you’ll need to craft and experiment with that can create or change situations to your advantage.
Alchemy apparently also has no bounds in this world as The Warden can take advantage of their elixirs to shapeshift into any creature and turn creatures into other creatures, including even turning them into The Warden – okay this is just getting confusing.
With an ecosystem that can be affected by your actions such as Reapers devouring poor pets that have been left in a single location or Ghouls terrorising all in their path due to being attracted by the unburied, there are countless ways to overcome the dark age that has been brought on by Morbus.
I can already tell from the trailer that this adorable art style and mystical land is something I’m going to fall in love with, as I collect the necessary ingredients to craft my potions and live my best life through the possible pets to collect.
No exact date has been given to the release of The Rogue Serpent apart from the year 2022 and that it will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC.
Speaking of PC, you lucky devils can currently play a demo of the upcoming potion-crafting adventure on Steam while the rest of us are left to gawk at the debut trailer.
