The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Aftershocks Set For September Release on PSVR

A meaty free expansion for Saints & Sinners on PSVR.

After a lengthy delay due to technical issues, players will finally be able to get their hands on The Walking Dead: Saint and Sinners Aftershocks on September 23rd.

The Walking Dead franchise has a stellar reputation in gaming thanks to the success of the massively popular Telltale series. Saints & Sinners took the series in a different direction with its first shuffling steps into virtual reality.

The aim of the game in Saints & Sinners is survival by any means necessary and every decision made can be the difference between life and death. Players have to survive through the ruins of New Orleans battling the undead and scavenging for supplies.

Players have already been treated to new game modes and difficulty options in previous updates, but Aftershocks is the first to continue the campaign post-game.

The Aftershocks update is set to provide over 20 hours of new gameplay as players have to battle against enemy gangs and hordes of walkers. There’s also plenty of new collectables to be found and tools to be used as you try to survive against all odds.

Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners has been a major success since it was initially launched last year and has been a prime example of the potential in VR gaming after earning $29 million in revenue. Speaking to PlayStation Blog, project director Marc Domowics describes the new update as a “thank you” to players who have supported the developers:

“I like to think of Aftershocks as a small ‘Thank you’ to the players who’ve supported us since the game released and as we’ve grown. These are the bonus missions, end-game content designed to surprise, delight, and challenge even our most diehard fans. And, it’s a small appetizer for bigger things yet to come!”

Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Aftershocks is Available on PC VR, PlayStation VR, and Oculus Quest headsets from September 23rd, 2021.
