It looks like Netflix’s series The Witcher is driving more people to play the game. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition was the seventh most downloaded PSN game in December. It was released four years ago this May, so that’s a big revival. For anyone who has watched the show and played the game, you already know the game will be much more satisfying, despite Henry Cavill doing an excellent job of playing Geralt.
The rest of the games on the list are some old and new favorites. The king of the hill is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Staying strong at number two is Grand Theft Auto V, a perennial top ten game. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is number three, and the team here has split opinions on the game. It’s not the only game from a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars Battlefront II taking the fifth spot on the list. NBA 2K20 is the fourth most downloaded game in December.
The top five PSVR downloads shouldn’t be a big surprise either, because some of them were driven by big sales. The first game is the exception. Beat Saber was number one, and a lot of people who received a PSVR from Santa probably grabbed this one. Superhot VR was number two, and if you haven’t played this one, do it now. Job Simulator was number three, and this one is almost always around the top. Continuing to prove its ability to sell on any system, the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was number four. The zombie killer Arizona Sunshine rounded out the top five.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
