More Tony Hawk? Why not! Of course, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 was complete and utter rubbish, though it did get a little more bearable with updates, there’s still room in the gaming industry for kickflips and ollies, and there’s clearly a demand for it.
Rumours have been swilling around for a while now that there’s to be a new Tony Hawk skating game, though up until now they were just rumours. We’ve had nothing concrete to suggest that there’s a new game coming, not until the rock band The Death Set posted a now-deleted update on Facebook stating: “just licensed 5 new songs to Tony Hawk 2020 game. You’ll be hearing this shit soon.”

The post was quickly removed as Facebook users crowded into the comments to question why the band was making this announcement when there was no official word on a new game. Mistakes happen, and rockstars are prone to mistakes, perhaps even more than regular people if Ozzy Osbourne’s antics are anything to go by.
So it looks like we’ll be getting a new Tony Hawk game this year, but by who? Activision previously held the licensing rights to all Tony Hawk’s games, but those rights expired soon after the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. It’s likely that the Hawkman has penned a deal with a new developer/publisher and we could get an announcement soon.
