After months in Early Access on Steam, Torchlight III is finally releasing on October 13th. It will cost you $39.99 and come with an exclusive Fairy pet. The PS4’s pet will be the Azure Glittersprite, but other platforms will have a differently colored glittersprite if that is your preference.
The game will be packed with improvements and new features. It will have offline singleplayer and online co-op for up to four players. There will be a system for pets, Relic subclasses, forts you can customize, an end-game for the hardcore players, epic loot to collect, and many quests.
It will also have a three-act story. Taking place 100 years after the events in Torchlight II, the Ember Empire is facing a threat from the Netherim forces. As one of four classes, you’ll need to venture out into the frontier to explore dangerous dungeons and fight difficult monsters to save the day. Sounds epically epic enough.
There’s a lot of back-of-the-box features packed into Torchlight III. You’ll be able to explore the frontier and dungeons to collect loot and crafting materials. You can build your own fort and upgrade your gear. You can choose one of five upgradeable relics to give your character skills and buffs. You can find a pet to carry your stuff and grant you additional skills. The pets come in different colors and abilities that allow you another way to customize your playstyle.
If you’ve been wanting to take another trip to the Ember Empire, you only have to wait about two weeks. Torchlight III releases October 13th.
