Earlier this week, we shared with you news that the split screen feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 had been taken down under the cover of darkness, owing to a number of issues that had been plaguing the mode since its launch. We can now confirm that Treyarch intend on bringing the feature back, and that it is due to fast rope back on to consoles in four days times.
Initially there was concern that the feature could be made AWOL permanently as the developer took such heavy handed action in order to bring about a fix. However, that worry can now be described as completely unfounded. Although it still remains unclear as to why the whole thing had to be taken away in the first place; fixes are normally possible via the helicopter insertion method called ‘the internet’.
Either way, we’re getting the split-screen back in the game’s Blackout mode. All bundled up nicely in the upcoming Apocalypse Z Update, planned for July 9th. Now all that’s left for us to do is debate what else could be included in the intriguingly named patch.
Apocalypse Z; very Day’s Gone!
Did you notice that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout split screen was missing in action? Or did Treyarch’s quality patrol go by under the radar? Your answer could explain whether you are inundated with team mate requests. Or not.
Alcatraz will return to #Blackout on all platforms on July 9th, along with a dark new twist coming to Alcatraz in Operation Apocalypse Z.
Splitscreen co-op will also be restored in all Blackout modes with our July 9th update alongside new Blackout map updates.
