Trine 4 Release Date Announced With a Beautiful New Trailer Showing 4-Player Gameplay

Modus Games and Frozenbyte have announced today that Trine 4 will be coming to PS4 this October 8th, and to give the announcement a little more shazam, they’ve also released a brand new gameplay trailer.

The new gameplay trailer, which you can watch up above, gives us our first look at the game being played in 4-player mode – and it looks wonderful. Fans of the Trine series will be happy to see Trine 4 going back to its roots of 2.5D sidescrolling after the divisive 3D entry that was Trine 3. I liked it though…

If you’ve not played the previous Trine games or just want to have the entire collection in one place, Modus Games will be publishing Trine: The Ultimate Collection for PS4, as well as Trine 4: The Nightmare as a standalone game.

There are various pre-order bonuses for each version of the game, so check them out down below:

Trine: Ultimate Collection at retail will include:

  • Trine 1-4
  • Trine Series Original Soundtrack (download code)
  • Trine 4 Digital Art Book (download code)
  • Collector’s Reversible Cover Sheet
  • Physical Trine 4 World Map

Consumers who buy Trine 4 at retail will receive:

  • Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince
  • Physical Trine 4 World Map

Pre-order bonus:

  • Toby’s Dream DLC Level: all pre-orders of Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince and Trine: Ultimate Collection will get a bonus in-game level, Toby’s Dream, at launch. Toby the dog, as previously seen in Nine Parchments, has his own adventure in Heatherwood Hall with the Three Heroes! Follow the pawsteps of Toby and help him find all the treats hidden in the castle and its gardens.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is available to pre-order now via the PlayStation Store or, should you want a physical copy, you can nab yourself a physical pre-order over on Amazon.
