Ubisoft is quietly confident that its upcoming looter-shooter The Division 2 will be a success, as spoken about on today’s quarterly earning call.
According to Ubisoft, it expects The Division 2 to sell more than the original The Division that released a few years ago. Given that it’s a sequel to a successful game, that seems like a fair expectation. Some sequels don’t always do as well as their prior games. Ahem, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate…
Ubisoft also confirmed that The Division 2 beta had a record number of players for any Ubisoft game beta ever. The publisher also says that the average player played the beta for around five hours. Players will need to invest more time into the full game if they want to make any kind of progress – the main campaign has around 40 hours of content according to Ubisoft.
The Division 2 will release on March 15th, 2019.
