Ubisoft’s pirate-themed multiplayer game Skull & Bones has once again been delayed, and this time until next year.
Ubisoft recently held its investor relations conference call and it was revealed that Skull & Bones will not be releasing this year as previously planned. Instead, the game has once again been delayed and will now release sometime in 2022, though no firm date has been given.
Skull & Bones was first announced way back at E3 2017, and since then the game has been hit with numerous delays and staffing changes, as well as a complete overhaul to the game’s original vision. Whether it’s actually going to see the light of day is a story unto itself.
Thankfully, Ubisoft is in a strong position to offer players many other games. The publisher has rightfully boasted that its portfolio is stronger than ever and that the future lineup of games is incredibly strong. It’s hard not to argue with that statement when the likes of Far Cry 6, Avatar, and a brand new Star Wars game on the horizon. Maybe Skull & Bones could sink away and nobody would notice?
