UPDATE: The release date has been updated to February 18th. Write clear notes, and don’t drink and write, kids.
Maybe I just really like Giancarlo Esposito, but that Far Cry 6 teaser was impressive. To keep the spoilers to a minimum, a father teaches his son about the importance of what they represent as authority figures in the fictional country of Yara and what it will take to keep that power. This lesson is delivered while a revolution is occurring outside. I always say give the trailer a watch, but give it a watch. I’m hoping Ubisoft delivers some actual gameplay on this one soon. Until then, you can view the attached screenshots along with both trailers.
The story focuses on a revolution against President Anton Castillo (played by Esposito). Yara is a tropical paradise, but it’s not a paradise for the people who live under Castillo’s despotic rule. As we see from the trailer, Castillo will do anything to hold onto that power as he tries to prepare his son Diego for when he will eventually take over in his place. Players will use guerilla tactics to overthrow Castillo and free the country.
Far Cry 6’s revolution will begin on February 18, 2021. You can check out the teaser up top and a trailer with Giancarlo Esposito describing his character at the bottom.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
