Ubisoft Forward Round Up: What Was Announced? Far Cry VR, Gods & Monsters Re-Reveal, and More

Ubisoft’s latest Ubisoft Forward broadcast is over and our poor little typing fingers couldn’t be happier. Honestly, there was so much going on I didn’t know whether I should be clicking my mouse or tapping on the keyboard. At one point, I pressed the ‘sleep’ key and walked out of the room for a couple of minutes.

My personal struggles with working hard aside, what did Ubisoft actually announce during this Ubisoft Forward? What games were shown? What trailers were released? What were the surprises? We’ve got all that and more down below.

Gods & Monsters is Now Called Immortals Fenyx Rising

Ubisoft opened the show with a re-reveal of Gods & Monsters, which is now called Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s looking good and we’ve got some extended preview gameplay footage for you to watch, too.

The Division 2 – The Summit and PS5/Xbox Series X Compatibility

Ubisoft’s support for The Division 2 is still going strong, and that will remain the case going into next-gen. The game will be getting a new content update soon to add a new PVE game mode where players have to fight their way through 100 floors in a huge building. Basically ripping off Battle Royale games and Die Hard in one shot. Mucho respect from me.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

I didn’t see this one coming myself, but that’s because I’ve played precisely zero Prince of Persia games. Still, fans of the series should be happy that Ubisoft is remaking one of the classics. It’ll come with a few surprises, too, according to Ubisoft. You can check out the trailer and screenshots here.

The Crew 2 is Aping Netflix With an In-Game TV Show Called ‘The Chase’

Yep, you read that right: Ubisoft is still supporting The Crew 2. Things will change in November for all those who are still playing as the structure of seasons is being revamped to include MotorFlix. It sounds nuts but it’s got potential. Check out the trailer and see why I’m ready to boot up The Crew 2 again… But on Stadia, because if it’s still naff, I’d like to be able to turn it off as quickly as I can turn it on. #BadStadiaAd

Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game – Complete Edition is the Perfect Gift to Stuff Inside a Hipster Christmas Stocking

It’s happening! After years of fans throwing mad shade and memes in an effort to get Scott Pilgrim on modern consoles, it’s finally happening. Yay!

For Honor Year 4 Season 3 is ‘Resistance’

For Honor players will be treated to a new update this month with Resistance. I can’t really say much else about this; I don’t like For Honor. At least I’m honest, right? Check out the very red trailer here.

Far Cry 3 VR is a Thing, But It’s Also Not a Proper Thing

I nearly prolapsed when I saw this one. Far Cry 3, in VR? What is this madness? It’s a thing, and it’s called Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity. The insanity part comes from the fact it’s not going to be on PSVR or any other consumer headsets for the foreseeable future. Instead, it’s an arcade-style experience, and you need friends to play it. Seriously? Does Ubisoft not know that many of its customers have no friends? Not me, I’ve got two…

Watch Dogs Legion is Getting Some “Iconic” Cameos

Aiden Pierce is going to be in Watch Dogs Legion and he’s bringing along his silly cap. Big whoop. I never liked the guy and I don’t see the appeal, but each to their own. Stormzy is also going to be a character in the game, which is really cool and it makes sense – he’s a popular figure amongst young British people who feel oppressed by society, particularly the UK Government. And he’s from London, too, so it makes double sense. See you then, mandem.

Just Dance Has Even More Songs You Can’t Dance To

You’ll be shaking your booty this Christmas whether you like it or not, because no matter how hard anybody tried, Just Dance always finds its way onto the telly at Christmas time. It’s the tradition in my house, and I’m just thankful that there will be enough songs to dance through to burn through the inevitable Christmas pig-out period.
