Ubisoft is being very coy. Very coy indeed. Normally, us filthy little journos sit in on quarterly earnings calls by publishers in the hope of getting a nice scoop. Sometimes publishers will confirm certain games before they get a proper announcement. Ubisoft seems to know this, as during its latest conference call the publisher is not giving anything away.
Speaking on the call today, Ubisoft confirmed that it plans to release three to four AAA games in the next fiscal year. The next fiscal year means anywhere between April 2019 and March 2020. At the time of writing, Ubisoft hasn’t given any clues as to what it coming later this year. Instead, the publisher has only spoken about recent releases and games coming in the near future, such as The Division 2 and Far Cry New Dawn.
Ubisoft has chosen not to elaborate on what the three to four AAA games will be, but we can assume that at least one that will release this holiday season is Skull and Bones. Maybe Splinter Cell will finally be making a return this year? Or perhaps Watch Dogs 3? Or maybe both?
