Ubisoft is set to reveal a new Far Cry game later this week at the Game Awards 2018. This isn’t some baseless rumour, either, as Ubisoft has jumped the gun and made an announcement of the announcement, presumably to stay a step ahead of leaks.
The trailer, which is embedded up above, hints at a post-apocalyptic setting in this new Far Cry adventure. However, it’s not clear yet if this is a real Far Cry game, or more of a spin-off, a la Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and Far Cry Primal. My guess is that it’s more of a Far Cry Primal situation where the game’s map and mechanics are based on Far Cry 5, but with a post-apocalyptic twist. It has to be, really, considering that Far Cry 5 only game out last year and these games tend to have fairly long development cycles.
The full reveal will be made during the Game Awards 2018, December 6th at 5:30PM PST/8:30PM EST.
