A quick message on the PlayStation Blog shows that a new design and functionality is coming. Described as a “major update”, it’s scheduled to be unveiled in “the coming weeks”. There’s not a whole lot of info, so let’s speculate briefly. It could be something to bridge the gap between gamers and PlayStation now that E3 is gone. A transformation of this sort would be perfect for delivering information in more ways.
If you are of the more conspiratorial persuasion, I did release an opinion piece on why I think Sony has a security problem on the PlayStation Blog, and this could be to fix that known issue.
