It was announced early last year in March that a western version of tactical role-playing game Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen would be coming soon in the near future to gamers. Even though the game was released in Japan under the name of Utawarerumono: Chiriyuku Mono he no Komoriuta back in April of 2018. Today, we got a new story trailer of NIS America title with some new interesting information.
The upcoming game is a remake of the original Utawarerumono title that was released all the way back in April 2002 on PC’s. So, if this is the first time you’ve ever heard of the series, this is a good place to get started with the franchise. If you’re not so familiar with the series, it has had numerous gaming titles, character cameos in Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match and even an anime series to boot. The premise follows a young man that has collapsed and has no prior memory of his past. He is found by a young girl named Eruruu, that then takes him to her village. The young man that is then later named Hakuowlo has a mask upon his face that he cannot take off. The origins of Hakuowlo and the mask are shrouded in mystery.
The most surprising announcement is that the title won’t just be coming to PS4, but also PS Vita. Yes, apparently vita games are still getting game releases in 2020, so it might be time to find our old vita’s and brush of the dust! Game data will be shared and supported between both versions of the games as well. However, only a digital version of the game is available for PS Vita. Nevertheless, PS4 will have two physical editions: limited Edition and origins edition. Along with digital edition available for purchase on PS4.
The limited-edition will including the following:
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen for PS4 Edition
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Hardcover Art Book
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Soundtrack
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Metal Keychain
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Poster
The game will be released in North America on May 26th and Europe on May 29th.
