The brilliant Vader Immortal VR series is getting an official special retail edition for PSVR and it’s coming this summer.
ILMxLAB and Perp Games are teaming up to bring players a very special edition of Vader Immortal for PSVR this summer. The special retail edition will release on June 18th and it’ll include some nice extra that fans will want to get their hands on.
- A digital artbook, with unreleased art and insights into the making of Vader Immortal, written by StarWars.com contributor Kelly Knox;
- A new behind-the-scenes video about the making of ZO-E3, your droid companion voiced by Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, SNL) with special footage from a voice-over session, concept art, interviews from the creators, and more;
- Two collectible physical postcards featuring stunning concept and key art.
Vader Immortal originally released on the Oculus Quest to critical acclaim and it has since been ported to PCVR and PSVR. The series consists of three episodes, each telling part of a complete story. What’s more is that the story is considered Star Wars canon, so if you’re a Star Wars fan hungry for more tales, this is as good a place as any to get them, especially as you get to be in them.
The story is well told but the staying power lies with the training dojo which is essentially a wave-based horde mode where you use your force powers and lightsabers to fight your way through dozens of challenges. It’s good fun and if you missed this the first time around, then may the special retail edition will see you through the summer.
