Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Developer Sacked as Release Date Pushed into 2022 and Beyond

The development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is not going so well. The game’s publisher has taken drastic action and provided an update for fans.

Paradox Interactive has brought some bad news to eager fans (some of whom have already pre-ordered the game) with the announcement that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will not be released in 2021. By the sounds of the update, the game may even end up skipping next year, too.

An update posted on the game’s official website explains that the game won’t be releasing in 2021 and that players will no longer be able to pre-order the game. However, there is no mention of refunding those who have already pre-ordered. We’ve contacted Paradox for clarification but have not yet heard back.

The post goes on to explain that the game is an ambitious project and it needs a lot of time and change for it to meet its goals:

Peep this:  Review: Bus Simulator 21 - PS5, PS4

“This game is very important to us and it has been an ambitious project from the very start. In order to meet our goals for it, we’ve come to the conclusion that a change is needed and, as a result, more development time is required.”

The post goes on to explain that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be working on the game:

“We’d like to take this opportunity to honor Hardsuit Labs for their efforts and thank them for their hard work on the project. The studio has done a tremendous job in laying the foundations for the game and we hope that you, the community, will also appreciate their contribution to Bloodlines 2.”

So… Not great news, then. From the sounds of it, we may not see Bloodlines 2 for a very long while. It depends on how much of Hardsuit Labs’ work is salvaged, or if the entire project is going back to the drawing board.
