Activision done good. Really good. As we wrote earlier today, the publisher has released a free PSVR experience/demo called Jackal Assault for the PS4. It’s completely free and you don’t even need to own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, though obviously a PlayStation VR headset is required.
We’ve downloaded the bite-size demo to see if it’s any good, and after having played it through a few times, we’ve come to the conclusion this is good. Very good. It’s barely 10 minutes long with the introduction – it’ll barely last five minutes if you skip the tutorial – but it’s a solid little demo that Activision could have quite easily stretched out to a couple of hours and locked it behind a paywall. Thankfully that’s not the case.
There’s a video up at the top of us giving Jack Assault a go on PSVR, and although our flying/shooting skills could do with some work, it should be enough for you to get an idea as to how the game plays. If you’re a PSVR owner but haven’t downloaded Jackal Assault – get your act together.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
