This year seems to be packed with interesting visual novels, and you can add one more to the list. In Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa, you transfer to Fujisawa Academy. You have all the usual problems of a new student. You meet new people, try to make friends, and learn their darkest secrets by using a power gained by making a pact with Mon-chan, a demon fox.
That last one may not be the typical high school problem, but that demon pact comes with perk. The power of Kotodama can be used to make people tell the truth when they would rather lie. (Is Mon-chan interested in another pact?) The school is filled with secrets, and things aren’t as good as they seem. Your fellow students may not be the upstanding youth they appear to be, and you will uncover the truth as you play.
This sinister sounding game is the result of a partnership between PQube and Art Co. Ltd. Although PQube has been involved with many visual novels, this will be Art Co.’s first original IP, after working on licensed games since the early 2000s.
As far as a release date, I only know that Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa is coming soon, but I’ll be sure to let you know when that changes to a specific date.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
