PQube has announced Our World is Ended will release sometime in 2019. The visual novel focuses on a group of AR helmet-wearing game developers, Judgement 7, who see a destroyed city in their latest game. They didn’t program it to appear in the game, so how did it get there? That weirdness continues as more things from the game start to appear in the real world.
For now, we only have a few small bits of info to share. Since it’s set in Asakusa, you will be able to see many of the real locations in the game. There will be over 40 hours of gameplay with dialogue options and references that the otakus among us will love, along with a promised good story and high production values.
Unique to the game is the Selection of Soul (S.O.S.) system. Reiji, the part-time director for Judgement 7’s project, will occasionally let his emotions show on the game screen. You have to react quickly before they disappear, but your choices in these scenes will further influence the dialogue.
If you are a little low on today’s dose of J-pop, check out the trailer, and keep your eyes peeled for more of Our World is Ended when it releases next year.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
