Vermintide 2 now displays its ratty hordes at 60fps/1440p after a free PS5 upgrade.
Fatshark’s co-op rat-slash-em-up, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, has been given the next-gen treatment – again – but this time for Sony’s PS5.
The game was previously patched to boost the game’s frame rate and visuals on Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S consoles earlier this year. Now, months later, the PS4 version has been updated to run and look better on PS5. The update brings improved visual effects, a higher 60fps framerate, and an increase in resolution to 1440p.
This is a free upgrade, too, so if you already own the game you’ll get the new PS5 features at no extra cost. If you’re a PS Now subscriber, you can download Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and try out the new PS5 upgrade.
Sadly, this isn’t always the case with PS4 games that have PS5 upgrades on PS Now. Most of the time, you only get the PS4 version with your subscription. I’ve had a moan about it before…
PS5 upgrades are all the rage these days and we recently saw Rebellion’s fantastic Sniper Elite 4 get a nice patch for PS5. That included 4K and 60fps features, and again, all for free. In fact, many people will have had Sniper Elite 4 as a freebie in the first place as the game was once offered as a PlayStation Plus free game. Not bad for a game that’s four years old, almost.
