Watch Dog 2’s Seamless Multiplayer Hoping to Be Reintroduced This Weekend

Watch Dogs 2 is a pretty great game. Check out our review here if you want to see why. The only problem was that Ubisoft had to disable their much-advertised, seamless online multiplayer because it was causing hella framerate issues. We will continue with the understanding that hella is indeed a word. Those who picked up the game probably realized that anything online that required player versus player never loaded properly. This is what got taken away. However, Ubisoft realized a memo on their official forums detailing what’s been done, what they’re going to do, and when their seamless multiplayer will be back up.

After “conducting extensive internal testing” their goal is to deploy a fix within a patch and turn on the seamless multiplayer by this weekend. Sadly, if it doesn’t work to Ubisoft’s liking they will disable the PvP multiplayer once again. Here’s hoping that we’ll be able to chase down naughty Marcus’ within our own game come Saturday. You can check out the full post by Ubisoft below and definitely let us know how Watch Dogs 2 is treating you!

We have an update regarding the status of the seamless multiplayer.

As you know, we’ve been prioritizing finding a solution to the online connection frame rate issue, so we can activate the seamless multiplayer feature in the game. We’re currently conducting extensive internal testing of a solution to ensure it causes no regression to the core single player experience, as well as smoothly integrates into the seamless multiplayer.

If the solution works as intended, we would begin deploying the fix in a patch and turn on seamless multiplayer as soon as this weekend. This is the scenario that we are all hoping for. But if during these tests we see that the game’s stability with seamless multiplayer still needs work, seamless online will remain deactivated and we will continue to investigate and test solutions.

We sincerely appreciate your support and patience during this process. Meanwhile, you still have full access to the open world, campaign, side activities and the opportunity to play Co-op missions or free roam with your friends.
