Yesterday, PlayStation released the third part in The Making of Uncharted 4 mini documentary series, if you missed that you can catch up here. Today marks the release of the second half of yesterday’s video and it’s titled Pushing Technical Boundaries Part 2. The video centres around the team at Naughty Dog as they discuss the difficulty of switching from the PS3’s Cell architecture to the PS4, how the PS4’s increase in RAM has allowed for improved animations and environmental details as well as AI in Uncharted 4. The entire video is full of fascinating information, but we think Uncharted fans will find the discussion on AI to be the most interesting as it will effect the moment to moment gameplay in Uncharted 4. Apparently there will be no scripted fights in Uncharted 4 because the AI are now smart enough to read the environment for themselves and adapt to it. That means as you switch cover they’ll switch their flanking strategy on the fly to find the most advantageous way of approaching Drake. As always, you’ll find the video down below. Enjoy.
Conor is Pure PlayStation’s resident Irishman. Naturally that means he’s constantly slurring his words and turning up stinking of Guiness with a potato in his pocket. It’s not all bad though, because Conor is also a PlayStation nut. When he’s not doing his best Father Jack impression (Father Ted, watch it) he’s got a DualShock 4 in his hand and a Vita in the other. Yeah, we don’t know how he manages it either.
