Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is out today on PS5 and PS4, and I’ve gone hands-on with the game today. While I was a little put off by the game’s opening with some stiff character interaction and dodgy voice acting, I’m actually really enjoying the gameplay.
This isn’t a big-budget AAA game by any means, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. Once I was past the sneaky-sneaky opening and allowed to take Cahal’s werewolf form, the fun really started.
Ploughing through guards and leaping across a room to skewer some low-paid grunt instantly put a silly grin in my face, and it stayed there until I put the controller down.
Werewolf reminds me of the Prototype games; low budget, big fun. It’s early doors yet but I reckon I’m going to really enjoy causing mayhem and mischief. For now, you can watch the opening ten minutes up above. Come back this weekend for the full review.
