Where the Heart Is, a narrative adventure that blends truth and fiction, has been revealed as part of the PlayStation Indies announcements made today.
Developed by Armature Studios, Director Todd Keller took to the PlayStation Blog to share the first details of the game. Players take control of Whit, who gets lost in a cave unable to find his way out. As you can see from the trailer above, it isn’t long before you get exploring environments both “grounded and ethereal”, exploring Whit’s past and future in real and imagined environments.
In the post, Todd goes on to say how they want to make choices feel tangible and real, and how choice has an impact on the outcomes and places you will end up in-game – an example shown in two of many gameplay videos shared to the blog is where you run into your brother and how this can differ depending on the choice you made earlier on. One of the main takeaways from the article is the developers desire to have you take responsibility for Whit and the man he becomes, as he grows as you play. A lofty aim – here’s hoping they pull it off when Where the Heart Is releases later this year.
