World War Z is coming soon to PS4. Very soon, in fact, as the game is due to release on April 16th, 2019. As is normal in the run up to a game’s release, the studio behind World War Z has put out a brand new trailer to drum up a bit of interest in its game.
It’s a decent trailer, too, with the game’s creative director narrating with some interesting information, such as the game’s A.I Director changing things up on the fly, depending on how you and your team are doing. It really does sound a lot like Left 4 Dead, doesn’t it? Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you, and if the game comes even halfway close to being as good as Left 4 Dead, it’s sure to be a winner.
If you’ve just woken from a very long slumber and thought that World War Z existed only as a book, a movie, and a mobile game, here’s a brief run down. The game takes place inside the World War Z universe, but there’s no Brad Pitt coming to save the day. You’ll fight hordes of horrid zombies with up to three friends, but you can play by yourself with the A.I taking the place of the other characters. It’s a third-person co-op shooter and it features a campaign that is split up between different chapters that take place in locations around the world. There’s also a competitive mode, PvPvZ – people versus people versus zombies. Sounds nuts, right?
Fun fact, the developers, Saber Interactive, actually offered to work on Sony Bend’s Days Gone to give it a multiplayer mode. Sony said no. Now we have World War Z.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
