WRC 9 released earlier this year and I was lucky enough to be the one to review it – I ended up getting far too involved with the game, but I’ve finally managed to break free. That freedom isn’t likely to last very long, mind you, as Nacon has shown off some next-gen footage of WRC 9 running on PS5. I’m gonna get hooked again, aren’t I?
The latest gameplay video gives us almost 90-seconds of next-gen racing. WRC 9 looked great on PS4 Pro when I reviewed it, but this is another level. For one, the enhancements are clear with the game running at a smooth 60fps and 4K resolution. To see this in the video up above, you’ll need to be on a 4K screen to see the game in its best light, and it really does shine, even if YouTube’s dodgy compressions doesn’t help out.
The good news is that if you’re a PS4 owner with a copy of the game in your possession (either physical or digital) then you’ll be getting this fancy version of the game at no extra cost on PS5 when it releases.
In other news, WRC 9 has had its first free update today bringing some brand new content to the game, all of which will be available on the PS5 version of WRC 9 next month.
WRC 9 releases on PS5 starting on November 12th before becoming available worldwide on November 19th.
