Developers don’t have to give us free updates after a game launches, so it’s nice to recognize when some do. WRC 9 is receiving it’s first free update that will add a variety of new content. First, we have six new challenging special stages for Neste Rally Finland filled with plenty of blind jumps. Next, Haydon Paddon and co-driver John Kennard will be joining WRC 9 in their Hyundai i20 WRC. Finally, a new photo mode is being added to capture the action of your rally race. It’s all included in the handy trailer at the top.
As I mentioned, it’s the first free update. A second update is coming soon that will add a co-driver mode. According to the game’s official site, it “allows a fellow player to read pace notes to the driver.” I’m not sure I want a backseat rally driver, but it’s too early to judge. New special stages are also coming to Portugal at some point in the future too.
If you own WRC 9 (review), the new content is free, and it’s hard to be anything but happy about that.
