Delays are a part of life. They are also a big part of games. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will join the proud tradition of pushing its release date. The news broke on Twitter a couple days ago, and it was bittersweet. The new release date will be April 17th, so it is only a month. In the world of delayed games, that’s not bad.
They also announced a demo will be available on February 27th. If you play the demo, you can import your save into the final game. We are not sure how big the demo will be, but we are hoping for a chunk of the beginning with some combat and games.
The reason for the delay was not clear, but our guess is it needs more spit and polish. Here is the full statement from the developers.

As you might guess, there were plenty of disappointment, but most people understand that delays are a voice in the song of gaming life. Some did point out God of War’s release date is 04/20, and that could be an uppercut to Yakuza 6’s launch.
Either way, we look forward to giving you our opinion of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life when it finally lands on April 17th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
