SEGA and RGG Studio have announced today the release date for Yakuza: Like a Dragon for PS5, and it’s going to be a little bit of wait compared to the other platforms the game is releasing on, including PS4.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s PS5 release date is set for March 2nd, 2021. However, the game will release on PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on November 10th. What’s more is that Xbox owners will get the next-gen version on the Xbox Series X via Smart Delivery. Why isn’t Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PS5 then? That’s a mystery, but perhaps it’s because the game has to be made to run on PS5, whereas on the Xbox family of consoles, it already does and just delivers the best version for the console it is being played on.
It’s a bit of a bummer, sure, but at least the PS4 version will release this side of Christmas. And, to make the delay a little less painful, the PS4 version will grant you access to Yakuza: Like a Dragon PS5 for free.
